Week three of our holiday was spent touring Mpumalanga. We visited most of the sites and the Kruger National Park.

African Intelligence (1)
I just love African intelligence. These chaps were told to take the crate off the back of the truck. All they had was a tractor, some logs and a chain. Well, as you can see, their first attempt wasn't very successful. They managed to push the crate off the side of the truck, by mistake I might add.

Of course by now a few people had heard the great big bang and had come to watch these guys fix their problem. Looks like a

With a little help, they hook the chains on the corners and pull the box up right.

The first bit of wildlife we saw, and it wasn't even in a game reserve. This chappy was just on the side of the road near the car park of the Lone Creek Falls.

Pilgrim's Rest (1)
When in Mpumalanga, you have to stop off at Pilgrim's Rest. This is an old mining town with most of the original buildings still standing.

Over the Escarpment (1)
This is the view from the very top of the hill that God's Window is on. You can see for miles towards the east on a clear day. Unfortunately, there was a fair amount of haze when we were there. It was in front of this view that I proposed to Claire

The view from God's Window. It isn't as nice as the view further up the hill, but it's the most famous.

It doesn't look like much, and they really don't want you falling, except for maybe those that can squeeze through the hole in the fence.

Impala (1)
The first wild animal we saw in the Kruger Park. Very pretty buck, not to be confused with the Springbok, and very tasty too. Oh and there are plenty of them in the Kruger Park.

Impala Lily (1)
Whilst not a lily in the sense most people think, these are very striking and beautiful, and it only flowers in the dry winter months. It's also called a Sabi Star, which is quite appropriate considering Sabi is just down the road.

A Bauble Tree
I have no idea what this tree really is, but there are a fair few of these trees in the Kruger Park. They look like baubles or round tennis ball sized melons, hence I called it a bauble tree.
